Childhood

As a child, I was blessed to have visited some of the great art museums in New York, Washington D.C., and Chicago.  Having the opportunity to see the skillful work of these great masters, helped spark a love for art that turned into a passion that has created the artist that I am today.

Training

I received my formal training in Tucson where I graduated with a BFA from the University of Arizona. I was fortunate enough to have learned under Bruce McGrew and Bart Morse distinguished artist of their own.  Informally, I was blessed to be an understudy to Lillias Appland, who was the only student of Master Brownell McGrew.

Professional Career

I began teaching, art for the city of Tucson, where I taught for over 16 years.  I currently have students that I freelance. I have loved mentoring the many students that I have taught throughout the years and will always continue to do that. I have learned that in teaching others, I am teaching myself.

I am an active Signature Member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild (SAWG)

Aspirations

One of my major goals is to paint the national parks as Thomas Durant did. I believe that this country has so much beauty to offer, and I would love to share that beauty with everyone.
